CUSTOMER REVIEWS OF THE BARTLETT STAGE-FLOOR MICROPHONES "We used three TM-125C mics for various junior-high and high-school choir and vocal ensemble numbers, and I must say the microphones performed superbly. Throughout the concert, we were able to hear all of the voices with remarkable clarity." -- Jim Hughes, Chalfont, PA "All I can say is WOW! I was thoroughly impressed with the TM-125C, it was more than I had expected. The sound quality was exceptional and the gain before feedback was extremely high. We were able to use the TM-125Cs to create a natural sounding production. The only amplification used were the 3 TM's that we purchased from you ... they were not noticeable at all from the audience. I was a bit skeptical, but the reviews I read (and the stuff from Theareface.com) were right on the money! Superb product. I was afraid that the TM's were going to be very similar to the PCC-160, but they weren't, they were head and shoulder better. Our speakers are placed slightly in front of our proscenium opening mounted on the side walls (no center cluster)." -- Jac-que Robinson, Director, Dunn Performing Arts Center, Rye Country Day School "We used two TM-125C mics for a kids' musical on our stage and were very pleased with the amount of gain and frequency response. The mics seemed very natural sounding with not much EQ. The coverage was better than we expected with the supercardioid pattern and I was very impressed with the rear rejection. After trying them in our application I told two other Technical Directors from other churches about the mics as they have similar needs. Your mics were a very pleasant surprise and I would recommend them to anyone." --Ken Robertson, Pastor of Technical Arts, Hillside Community Church, Alta Loma, CA "We needed three TM-125C mics for an elementary school play. It has always been a struggle for intelligibility, especially for little voices who can't project much. Your mikes did a good job of picking up their voices and carrying them out to the audience and remaining intelligible." -- Fred Katz, Washington DC. "As the vocal director and sound engineer of our High School musical, I highly recommend the Bartlett TM-125 floor mics. I used 3 of them across the stage for our production of 'The Music Man' with a cast of almost 200, and they were fabulous! The mics were positioned only 8 inches in front of the orchestra pit, but thanks to the rear rejection of the mics, I still had a great deal of control over the vocals on stage without worrying about the orchestra being too loud. In addition, no amount of dancing or stomping on stage was ever a problem. The clarity and gain before feedback from these mics are terrific! I like them better than the Crown PCC-160’s, and they are less expensive." -- Dan Lauritzen, Hempfield Area School District, Greensburg, PA "We just used them for our show this weekend and I was extremely impressed. The sound was subtle with no feedback. It was the little "umph" that my actors needed. I hate body mics because the actors get lazy. These are a great teaching tool." -- Julie Valenzuela, Santiago High School, Corona, CA "We used three TM-125C stage-floor microphones in a live production ("Grease") and they performed brilliantly. The sound was clear and full, and the rear side rejection (audience noise) was greatly reduced. Thanks for making such a wonderful product." -- Bill Warshaw, TheatreSHOTS, Brea, CA "...the directionality and floor noise rejection are great, and they sound quite natural. I'm running them through a Behringer Ultracurve DEQ-2496, which in feedback suppression mode does a really nice job of notching out very narrow frequences as you'd want for stationary mics." -- Larry Wall, New Life Church, Mountain View, California. "I did some research and bought three TM-125 mics. They are amazing. We are running all of our singers with no wireless mics and they sound great. We have a 30 piece live orchestra (not in a pit) and the mics do not pick up any of the orchestra. My stage is 24 feet deep and 36 feet wide and I could actually do the show with two mics, but I've got a third for balance in a couple of scenes. The mix of the chorus singers is great. No more worries about batteries and wireless hassles. And if the wireless mics on the lead actors cause us any trouble, we'll turn them down and only use our trusty Bartlett's. Plus I've already had kids step on them...they're indestructible as far as I can tell. They are seriously awesome...and only $200 apiece." -- Mike Shaffer, Littleton, CO "Thank you for all the help you gave me and the school regarding the mics! I used one microphone for the performance and the audience of parents noticed the difference right away. Some comments I received were "I finally heard my daughter" "I love the sound!" so it was well worth it." -- Neal Fischer, South Loop Elementary, Chicago, IL "Purchased the mics for a client for a production of 'Amahl...,' and long-term for use with children's choirs, future dramatic productions, etc. They are ecstatic with the results." -- Rev. Terry Heislen, OSL Voices Raising!, Plano, TX. "The TM-125 was extremely natural. At one point the choir director was sure that I had turned off the mic. I had to fade the mic out before she would believe that I was reinforcing the dialogue." -- Gary Wakenhut, Lakeview, MI This is an unsolicited testimonial from a school music teacher. To amplify young actors and singers he tried stand-mounted mics, hanging mics, and wireless mics. They all were disappointing, but the TM-125C floor microphones did an excellent job for him. Click here to read his story. It's full of interesting details about all the approaches he tried. "The TM-125 sounds incredibly rich and clear. We also have the PCC-160, but this will be replaced by a couple more of the TM-125's. So far, I'm using it for a couple of children's musicals here at my church. Also using it as a safety microphone just in case our wireless fails." -- Alan Chang, San Francisco, CA "The mics have been fantastic so far. We used them during a portion of a choral concert last week and they will be used for their first middle school play on October 28 and 29. We are very excited that we will be able to hear our little ones without having to use body mics." -- Meredith Purgason, casciahall.org "I used the TM-125 at our last show and I loved it. I placed it in the center of my dance stage flanked by two PCC-160s. Man, I could actually tell the difference. A lot less noise, less bounce, less EQ needed, better rejection, and what I thought was a much cleaner sound. You guys did a great job with this thing." -- James Dunlap, Rhythm in Shoes "The TM-125 is just what we needed. Even the soft talkers and the stage whispers were audible. I so appreciate the mic and especially your expert help in sending it/setting it up by our Friday nite show." -- Kathy Morris, Community Theater, Canandaigua, NY "I tried the TM-125 on a junior high school play. It was pretty amazing -- really good gain before feedback and a nice pickup pattern. I was pleased with it. It's a lot less hassle to use than wireless mics, and less expensive". -- Joe Wisler, Life Center Project audio "We have a less than ideal situation in our church, as far as loudspeaker placement goes. We have a pair of SLS line arrays flown over the stage, just at the edge of the front apron. Fortunately, they are quite directional, and we don't have a huge problem with feedback." "...I came into our auditorium, fired up the sound system, and strapped a 31 band EQ across the channel the mic was feeding. I spent about 15 minutes ringing out frequencies, and afterward, I couldn't believe how much gain I could get from just one TM-125C mic! I walked around back and forth, and it would pick me up just fine. And best of all, my voice still sounded very natural — I was worried that with some fairly serious EQing, I would get that either 'scooped' or 'thin' sound, but neither was the case." -- Tom Coyan, Calvary Community Church, Manteca CA. Caliente Trio "As part of our live production we have recently discovered Bartlett Microphones. Their Guitar Mic provides high gain and natural sound. Solved a lot of sound issues. Most functional microphone we have discovered. We use these plugged into either AER or Acoustic Image amps for on-stage monitoring then DI into the house system if we need. Thanks Bruce...Hassle-free quality sound." Caliente Trio MySpace page "The Guitar Mic is an awesome microphone, a great piece of engineering. That's the best sound I've heard in my life for sound reinforcement of an acoustic guitar. Thanks for providing a tool that I can use to better produce my music. Your fan, Mark Rose, Brokkenstik Musik" "The Cello Mic sounds great. Very satisfied. Thanks for the quality product at a great price." -- Jim Shelley "The Cello Mic is fabulous and has made quite a few people just a wee bit jealous! It fits the tailpiece well, and I like the flexibility of being able to pop it on and take it off quickly and easily. The sound is lovely. Thanks for your speedy delivery and advice."-- Laura Sheridan "The Guitar Mic is awesome. Finally a clip-on that works! Beautiful balanced sound. Ultra high output. Easy to fit. Really happy with the product. Years of search are finally over. I will place another order soon, meanwhile I will mention it to all here in Australia." -- Cheers, Al Valodze, Pembroke Music Dept. "Today I did a test and the Guitar Mic was FANTASTIC, better than any pickup. The classical guitar sounds very natural and the balance between bass and treble is perfect. Thank you so much for helping us, the musicians, perform with volume and exquisite sound." --Aris www.arisguitarist.com "The Guitar Mic B sounds absolutely phenomenal on my old Martin played through the Fender Acoustasonic amp. Couldn't be happier about it." -- Mathew Thornton "Can you say the best mic yet? I am shocked at how good this Guitar Mic sounds...it delivers a completely non colored sound a nearly perfect duplication of the natural sound of the guitar!!!!!! And the best part I am getting no feedback and am able to crank up the volume louder and clearer than ever before!!!!! Can't wait to try this at my next gig!"-- http://www.rumbaking.com/ www.foroflamenco.com "I have heard the Guitar Mic which is clipped onto the guitar and the sound is very natural and uncoloured, relatively high gain, balanced without the mid range 'honk'...similiar to a DPA, less muddy than the Audio Technica Pro 70 (a much better option IMO)" -- Alva (aficionado) www.foroflamenco.com "The battery-powered Bartlett Guitar Mic B is compatible with wireless systems AND "circuit breaking" mute switch guitar cables. All together with the added benefit of increased fidelity from avoiding phantom power. My dear friend and self-proclaimed audio snob Chris Kindler described the sound as "High Definition Audio delivered to the audience" after a recent concert in Pacifica. Paired with the Fishman Solo Amp, this setup gives powerful, natural and rich feedback-resistant sound. Your guitar..... louder, the way only an amazing condenser microphone can deliver. After using these mics all summer I can say comfortably that I don't want to do a show without them. A huge thanks to Bruce Bartlett for listening to guitars and guitarists and creating such amazing products. A small company solving a HUGE issue that I have been struggling with for over 15 years." -- Jason McGuire, flamenco guitarist/teacher "The moment I played my mandolin into the Cello Mic I knew that the microphone was an instant favorite in my collection. My mandolin sounded like my mandolin! Every nuance was captured, and the evidence was in the playback. You've really created a nice microphone, Bruce, and I'm glad to own one. It's an amazing little mic and the price point is unbeatable." -- Jay Lapp (with Trent Wagler and Jay Lapp, formerly with the Goldmine Pickers) "I had a little time tonight to try your Bartlett Fiddle Mic... The Fiddler was Jamie Laval: http://www.jamielaval.com/ He currently uses a Countryman Isomax. We first tried the Countryman B3, and he liked it, maybe a bit more than his Isomax. Then we tried the Bartlett Fiddle Mic, and he definitely liked it better than the Isomax or B3." -- Weogo Reed "Darcie Deaville, a singer-songwriter who also plays fiddle in the Austin Lounge Lizards... liked the Fiddle Mic quite a bit, which is pretty impressive since she usually uses either a Neumann U47 or U87 in the studio. We got a nice sound out of the violin in standard tuning, and it was more or less a push between the Sanken CU-41 and the Bartlett Fiddle Mic as to preference, but on the fiddle in open tuning, we definitely preferred the Bartlett sound. " -- Mike Jasper, Tape Op magazine #78. "The Guitar Mic B is the best thing I have tried on my guitars in 25 years of searching and trying literally every other mic and pickup under the sun. Bartlett Mics are incredibly natural, transient response is amazing." "Just plug in to record... no fuss... no fan noise or room acoustics... punch in parts later without worrying about the mic position. All this plus great sound live with incredible isolation and feedback resistance... its a no-brainer." - Jason McGuire, Flamenco Guitarist/Teacher "We are finishing this amazing project with the Ebony Hillbillies. The Fiddle Mic is working perfectly both for recording and live sound with no feedback problems. (The EHs played Spoleto last week.) The recording quality is excellent. We placed it under the tailpiece where the strings attach facing towards the neck for a dry sound and moved it toward the f-hole for a warmer effect. We are going for a violin sound on several numbers, and that has been great also." --Richard Alderson, recording engineer-producer, aldersonacoustics.com "My name is Henrique Prince, and I am the fiddler in a band called the Ebony Hillbillies. Richard Alderson of AldersonAcoustics brought me one of your little microphones (Fiddle Mic) a few weeks ago so that i could feel free and comfortable when I recorded for him. Your microphone is the best amplification device I have ever used hands down, no contest. In the studio or live it has been spectacular. We recently(June 3,2010) played an outdoor venue at the Spoleto USA festival in Charleston, SC. We sold the place out,(1,700 seats) a very large stage and a good sound crew. My microphone made the crew look like geniuses. Perfect in the floor monitors and out in the crowd. I'm hooked. If I could find a pickup that worked this well, I'd really be in business. Once again, the sound reproduction and ease of use of your creation is dazzling. Can't wait to get another one. Truly impressed" -- Henrique Prince, The Ebony Hillbillies "The Fiddle Mic pretty much beats everything I've tried so far, and that includes direct comparison with some of those high-end Scandinavian mics. How can the mic be so loud, so sweet, and no noise floor? It is a lot less cumbersome than the ones that arc over the fiddle, and the price is right. I want one for every instrument I own!" -- Darol Anger, Republic Of Strings, Turtle Island String Quartet, Associate Professor at Berklee School of Music. "The Guitar Mic is just an outstanding microphone! Crystal clear and pristine. My guitar has never sounded better." -- George Schricker, singer/songwriter "I found a sweet spot on my archtop Godin ... the Guitar Mic sounds so much better than the pickup it's unbelieveable. My pickup sounds very strange, and the A string is not as loud as the other strings. But now with this mic the problem is eliminated. It sounds like gold when I put it in my L'Arrivée, and I even get more volume than I can with the pickup." -- Southside Denny, guitarist/songwriter/teacher "The Fiddle Mic is the best fiddle mic I have ever used!" -- David White, musician "Your Spark Mini Mic had hands-down far superior sound to [my] pickups. Best reproduction of all the instruments was on fiddle.....nearly perfect. Even the banjo sounded good." -- Jim Krowka, musician "I'm very impressed with the sound of the Guitar Mic. I spent quite a bit of time tonight in our church, playing here and there among the pews to judge the sound in the environment. The guitar sounded stellar with your microphone" -- Scott Marquardt, musician "I cannot tell you how amazing the Spark Mini Mic and Fiddle Mic sounded. Really great" -- Christopher Koltay, recording engineer, Detroit, MI "The Banjo Mic sounded perfect." -- Matthew Thornton, sound mixer, Buchanan, MI
